THE BROCA DIVIDE - Eposode #4
The team runs into a group of barbaric inhabitants, referred to as the
"Touched" because they are afflicted with a "disease." They also meet
the other people of the planet who aren't afflicted, the "Untouched."
When the team returns to Earth, they all begin contracting the "Touched"
disease, causing a panic within the entire SGC.
NOTES OF INTEREST:
- The mission to P3X-797 included a joint team of SG-1 and SG-3 Marines.
- Heelksha are evil gods of the underworld
- The Touched are pre-Stone Age, the Untouched are Bronze Age
- Pierre Paul Broca was a 19th century anthropologist who founded modern craniometry and studied the divide in intelligence in early species of mankind.
- The new Presidential Directive is to evaluate the scientific & cultural value of each mission.
- Stargate Command at Cheyenne Mountain used to be a missile silo.
