JOLINAR'S MEMORIES - Eposode #55
The SGC is visited by a very distraught Martouf, who informs SG-1 that Sam's father was kidnapped by Sokar, and taken to a planet who's appearance is much like that of Hell.
NOTES OF INTEREST:
- Sokar's forces are ten times larger than expected and he is prepared to launch an attack against six key System Lords, a vulnerable target due to the chaotic disorganization of Goa'uld feudal rule. He is strong enough to succeed, which could result in Sokar becoming the dominant power with an army large enough to rule the galaxy.
- Netu, the moon orbiting Sokar's home planet of Delmak, was once an industrialized colony of Delmak. It takes its name from the book of Am-Taut which describes the ancient Egyptian "other world" regions, usually as dark pits of fire, home to monsters and the damned. Sokar used toxins in the atmosphere and explosions to release the molten core to transform the environment of Netu to match the description of Hell.
- Because there is no stargate on Netu, SG-1 must gate to the planet Vorash, take a teltac to Netu, and arrive in descent pods.
- A teltac is a Goa'uld cargo ship which Teal'c can fly with great proficiency.
- Na'onak is First Prime to Bynarr, Lord of Netu and Sokar's appointed leader.
- The memory device used on SG-1 by Hathor is indeed Tok'ra technology which can be adjusted for different settings of sensory responses.
- Using the memory device, Carter recalls her mother's death when she was a teenager.
- The transportation rings work like stargates, transmitting a matter stream over shorter distances. Each ring mechanism has sensors that can locate other rings and detect the coordinates to make a connection.
Injuries:
- O'Neill: struck down by a ribbon device
